What to Expect If you have never had a massage before it is hard to know what to expect. Each therapist and clinic can be different in their approach. Here at Bodyworks we take a very professional approach to ensure our clients feel comfortable and are getting the most out of each treatment. When you call or email to book your initial appointment we will ask for an email address to forward health history forms to you to be filled out before your appointment. If you are not comfortable with email, we will ask you arrive 5-10 minutes early for your appointment to fill out the forms in office. Your therapist will review your health history form before treatment and then again with you asking any addition questions that may be necessary. After this is complete they will perform a quick and efficient assessment with you to ensure that you get the most of your treatment. DURING TREATMENT: The therapist will give you a few minutes alone to undress to your comfort level and let you get on the table as you were instructed. Once on the table, you will be draped according to what areas are going to be addressed. You will only be undrapped to show the area that is being treated at that time (ie: if working on your back, only your back will be exposed). You will be asked throughout treatment if the pressure is okay, if you are comfortable etc. It is important to feel comfortable to express what and how you are feeling during treatment. If at any time you do feel uncomfortable you can stop treatment. AFTER TREATMENT: After treatment is finished the therapist will leave the room allowing you to get up and get dressed. Once you are dressed the therapist will check in with you, suggest any take home exercises that they feel may be of benefit to you, and then recommend a treatment plan that you works well for you. Our goal is to work with you, the client, to optomize your treatment and help you get the most benefit out of your time with us.
